Great Customer Service Will Make Your Business Great

Providing great customer service should be a no-brainer for any business.
But look around you, and it is often far from standard.
While it was always desirable, in the current economic times, I feel that businesses with great customer service will thrive far better than those with less than pleasing customer relations.

Great customer service is more than the average service – it requires being a bit more creative in satisfying your customers. You can start by finding out what they would like in addition to their purchase, and have frequent surveys to keep track that the level of service is indeed great.
You may baulk at spending some more money – don’t forget that it is far cheaper to retain a customer than to go out and get a new one. If your customer becomes a fan, they’ll refer their friends and just about anyone they meet to your business – an enviable position to be in – marketing on steroids!

If you have customer service as one of your core values within your business, and your team have “bought” into the philosophy, you’ll have much less complaints. Look at Zappos and Southwest Airlines. It is such an important part of their culture – they do not take their customers for granted.

Providing value to your clients must include great customer service!

Health and Success

Today, I have the pleasure of introducing our first guest on the blog, Mike Dickson.

Success can be a fleeting concept when the foundation of health doesn’t lie at its base.
Often I am reminded of Steven Covey’s success principles, specifically his ideas on production capacity (PC). He defines PC as an individual’s ability to produce. If that person doesn’t nurture their own capacity to produce then production will falter.
In essence if you don’t build health as a priority in order to be an effective efficient person then your capability to achieve lasting success may recede as well.
In his book he uses the metaphor of the goose who laid the golden egg, if you don’t know the story give it a look.

Of course there are many examples of people who succeed materially in this world and from first glance appear not to put health as a cornerstone. However if you follow many of those stories through completion as is the case in life, eventually everything balances out, and what was possible for a while is no longer sustainable.

Wealth truly is Health. Material wealth can help with that but ultimately health can’t be purchased; only your attitude towards it and your desire to prioritize it leads to the perfect union of healthy success.

As each of us follows our own unique path way towards success, remember its relative worth as you measure it against the golden egg of health. Take pause as you climb the ladder upwards, take each step carefully and try always where you can to build the balance needed to maintain stability so you can enjoy the fruits of your labour.

Lasting success awaits those who understand their true wealth. Keep nurturing yours along the way.

Getting Fit & Finishing Strong

In order to have a chance at finishing the multitude of things on our to-do list, we need to PRIORITIZE.
There are only 24 hrs in the day for you and everyone else. Time is not renewable: it is the most precious resource we have, so we are obligated to use it wisely, since there is no rewind button.

The player I was referring to is John McEnroe – he of “chalkdust” fame.
I remember starting to watch the 1984 finals match between him and Ivan Lendl on TV and I needed to leave home to run some errands. By the time I was leaving, John – the court favourite, was already 2 sets ahead, so I thought it was in the bag.
Imagine my shock and surprise to get back and find that Ivan had turned the match around and WON! He went on to be one of the most dominant players in the 80’s and early 90’s, and is one of the greatest tennis players of all time. He was already # 1, but the French open performance sealed the deal. It was one of the longest finals that I can recall. He is now Andy Murray’s coach, who, after a long drought (for himself and Britain) won the 2012 US open!

That there should tell you something – the power of mentorship/coaching amongst other things.

I encourage you to make Health and Fitness a priority, and to look forward, take the opportunity to finish the year strong.

What Does “Giving Value” Really Mean?

Talking about providing value and great content is all over the online and marketing space – it’s the current buzz phrase.

Do you really know what that means?

Here is some great information: people are more impelled to spend more money on a want, which they convince themselves is a need, rather than spend the same money on a need. With the need, they are more likely to bargain it as far down as possible, or try and postpone it – go into denial. Want’s loom large in our mind’s eye!

When you provide a solution to a problem, the bigger and more painful the problem, the more valuable your solution is perceived to be, and the more the solution is actually wanted.

Solving a big a****d problem is far simpler than trying to convert a not-so-big need into a want.

What you aim for is to provide a solution (service, product etc) that is such a NO-BRAINER & your clients feel it is such great value, they will readily pay WHATEVER you ask for it. If you do it right, you will not so much be asking for payment, as being asked how you want to be paid! The perceptual value of what is being provided is seen as far more that the money they are paying.

Finding Your Style All The Way To Success

Today, Lylo is sharing screentime with me – she knows her own mind, so she does not spend that long doing what I want, which is showing her off. She wants to get to her own stuff.

Do you know your style and mind in a particular situation? Have you taken the time to do so, and not simply follow your mentor, coach, or others? Their style may not match yours.

It is by finding and knowing your very own style that things suddenly become much smoother and almost effortless for you.

Success comes from that ease of knowing your style and going with it – finding your pathway to success!
That translates to the people you come in contact with as being in the flow of things, you are pretty confident in how you do the particular thing you do, which brings an authenticity to the process. You are not claiming to do something unfamiliar.

Being authentic is key to relating to people, including your online clients. If they do not trust what you say or do, you have lost them.

Create Your Own Luck.

When people tell me I am lucky, I don’t believe them! I feel blessed and fortunate, but it did not land in my lap when I was in the lotus position or praying. I actually had to do a lot of something to make things happen.

Don’t get me wrong – I’m not discounting good fortune entirely, but I feel luck happens when you recognize opportunity and take actions that attract the good fortune to you. There would be people around you in the same position, but will not do what you are doing: not the right time, too expensive, must be a scam, too tough or whatever their current flavour of the moment excuse is. As they say, and I firmly believe “Fortune favours the Bold”. So they tell you that you are lucky to make themselves feel better at not taking any action when you did.

When I started in the Network Marketing arena, so many family, friends and acquaintances were skeptical. I put a lot of effort into it, and have a lovely car to show for it, amongst other things, and I’m still told I’m lucky & I was in the right place at the right time – phooeey!
I grabbed that particular brass ring and went for it, when most of the same people did not do anything.

Don’t wait for luck to happen to you – it won’t. Create your own Luck, Success and Life – it is well within your capabilities.

Attending Events is Integral to Your Success

Do you attend your industry events? I sure hope so! If you want to become excellent and an expert in what you do, you need to build on your skills ALL THE TIME! You never stop!
It is a fallacy to think that you can get to a point and then stop – you’ll fall way behind the knowledge curve in the blink of an eye, especially in this tech era.

Think about it – when you attend events, the speakers are usually experts in their field. You can catch something very valuable in their talks that will boost your practise, improve your understanding or provide a new insight – some cutting edge stuff that may not be so well known.
You also have the opportunity of interacting with them right there and then – ask questions, pick their brains. Most speakers are pretty generous and can steer you in the right direction at the very least.

Events are also an opportunity to meet with your peers – those in the trenches, and compare notes. Such interactions provide you with an invaluable network that you can leverage in so may ways – afiliiates and JV partners especially. They may throw a light on some issues you have, or give you a solution to an issue that is a key to your success. Right there and then, the cost of the event may have paid for itself many times over!

Events also serve to energize me – you tap into the collective energy, which is in fact a giant mastermind. My advice to you: attend as many events as you can – the rewards are immense!

Using Leverage in your Business and Everyday Life.

Always be Leveraging – my take on the oft quoted phrase, Always be Marketing.
In leverage, you are looking to get more with what you already have, without putting in much more time, effort and/or money.

We all know that outsourcing is a form of leverage, however, how creative are you about using leverage in your business and everyday life? Watch my video today!

Yes, I was a bit au casual when I shot this, but you get the point. It is far far easier and cheaper to retain your customer than to go out to look for a fresh one every time. I know this, my cell phone company knows this, and so should you.
How do you put it into practise? Create a win-win situation at the very least!

In this situation, I already had a cellphone, eligible for upgrade, but would have to take on a fresh 3 year contract – ouch! Yes, I could have purchased an unlocked iphone 5 outright, so nothing would happen to my contract, which still had 1 year to run anyway, but I have been with the same company, and they have the services I require, so no need to jump ship just for the sake of it, with nothing much to show for it. In fact, no other company here is able to satisfy all my requirements to the same degree. I particularly wanted to be able to use a good phone with local sim cards to countries I visit – I am an ardent traveller!

Figures:
New unlocked phone $899.
New locked phone with fresh 3 year contract: $379.
Cost to unlock older phone: $50.
Resale value of old phone $200

See where this is headed? Total cost to me for new unlocked phone is $699, but I can’t use it on my travels because of the nano sim issue! Plus I still have 1 year left on my contract!

Total cost of new locked phone and unlocking older phone that I will use on my travels is $429, for a savings of $270 AND, even better, secured an additional service that I wanted, all in exchange for a fresh 3 yr contract. What would you choose?

Be on the lookout for clearer videos when I get it as well – that is the third win!

Do you NEED to be Successful?

For just about everyone, success brings a degree of freedom not possible without it. Success means different things to different people, however, at the core, it allows you to do what you want with relative ease and freedom.

Yes, it may involve work, and quite a bit of it. It probably will – but with discipline and commitment, you get so good at whatever it is you do, it is not or is no longer a chore. If portions of whatever you do is a chore, you can delegate it, concentrating on what you do best, until it no longer FEELS like work, if it ever did.
You will find that successful people work quite hard, but really enjoy whatever it is they do very much – and it shows. That almost palpable enjoyment of their work is a key to their success, and the success gives them the freedom to do whatever it is they want.

If you want to be able to do certain things whenever you want – take care of and hang out with friends and family, travel, take up hobbies, you need much more flexibility than a regular job allows you to do. That pretty much requires that you aim at becoming successful so you can be your own boss.

Is your WHY big enough?

Does your WHY both excite you and scare you? If it does both, you are on the right track. If not, you are playing small. Think of upping your game and “Go Big or Go Home”.
Don’t make the mistake that the object of your why is money – it should run much deeper than that.

If you don’t know what your big WHY is, think of what your burning desire is. Why do you want it? And keep asking “WHY” several levels deep – that takes you to the core of it all. I’m not going to give it away, but try the exercise and let me know what you come up with.
The core for most people is pretty similar – we just have different ways of getting there.

Your way the the right way for YOU.

You start from wherever you happen to be: decide to put a floor there, below which you will not go. There is no need to hit rock bottom. Once you have decided to put a floor in place, you now know the only way is up. Get moving, and opportunity (in the form of your subconscious seeking solutions to get to your stated goal) will present itself as an inspired idea or intuition. Take it and be fearless. You are not guaranteed success in everything every time, but you will learn from the things that do not work and figure out what does work – that is the road to success.
