5 Keys To Great Health

With good health, you really can do great things.
You’ll have the stamina to do things, the persistence to be successful, to last the course of the goals and successes you want to achieve.
Adopting life-long health habits is not hard at all!

Today, I’ll show you how by giving you my 5 Keys to Great Health!

1. Water — lots! When I was younger, I was permanently dehydrated. Once I stared drinking, I felt and looked so much better. It is true, you do need to drink pure water – on its own, not as part of anything else.

2. Good food for life – eat as natural and as close to the natural state as possible. For me that means organic and lots of salads. You don’t need to have everything organic, but if you eat 80% organic of the foods that need to be organic, you have great building blocks for your body, which can tolerate and deal with small amounts of not so good chemicals, instead of being overwhelmed if you eat mostly polluted food. Consider buying organic if you eat the skin of anything – most have heavy pesticide residue, though there are exceptions like asparagus. Do some basic research.

3. Supplements and Vitamins – again, do your research! You need some to boost your immune system. If you are dark skinned or live in Canada or most of the US or other countries significantly north of the Equator, are indoors most of the time, you probably need Vitamin D supplementation for starters. There is very good science, research and evidence behind it, unlike some other things touted as scientific out there, but are suspect. Again, go to some research.

4. Exercise – start with Walking – make it a total of 14 – 25 miles per week. You can break it down any which way you like. There is no advantage to walking fast or slow – just walk, not jog or run. And it’s best done in smaller blocks. I do about 2 miles every day and break it into at 2 sessions most days. Regular exercise including weight training will follow on naturally once you start feeling the wonderful effects from walking.

5. Be grateful, expect great things, surround yourself with happy people. You’ll rise to meet that positivity. What a great place to be.
Remember, what you focus on, expands. Wouldn’t you rather have happy and great things happen to you? Things will seem to fall into place of their own accord. The people around you will like you, and you’ll be able to lead a true purpose-led life.

Once you’ve got your health squared away, you can concentrate on other things. As someone once said, if you think eating (and being healthy) is expensive, try being ill.

You get such a sense of happiness and wellbeing from being healthy, you don’t need anything else to do so. It becomes your natural state, and everything else is a bonus.

Isn’t a healthy life great? What do you do to be and stay healthy? Drop me a comment below and share.

Are You Getting Results?

We are already a week into 2013 and most people made several resolutions,
starting January 1.

Historically, the ooomph with which you made those resolutions has started to decline
… and quite rapidly too.
By the end of January, gyms are back to their regulars…. no more jostling to use the elliptical or chest press machine.
How do you prevent that from happening and maintain the same zest to reach your goal?

One of the ways is quite simple and time-tested.

GET A COACH!

Coaches are not just for athletes, they are for everybody who wants to get better.

You can have a coach for your business, for your financial life, for your relationships, for your spiritual life – in fact, for pretty much any area of your life that could do with improvements and guidance.
As mentioned before, I have several – including a fitness coach, a strategic coach and an online business coach.

It is the fastest way to get to where you want to be – a coach is meant to PUSH you beyond your comfort zone, which you need to jettison if you are going to get to that goal you’ve been dreaming of.

My experience generally is that I am always surprised how far further I can stretch or be pushed. I, like pretty much everyone, have a perceived limitation. A coach ignores all that and helps you blast way past that.

The results are amazing – feeling fitter, getting my business up and running far faster and smoother are benefits that have a return far beyond what I paid for those services.

How To Start Your Business – Deep Or Wide?

You’ve made a decision – you want to start a business….
Great!

Then you start your research – the what and how especially.
What started with hope and enthusiasm is at risk of grinding to a screeching halt under the avalanche of information you have amassed.

You are firmly convinced your idea is unique, and no-one can quite put it together for you, plus, you don’t have deep enough pockets (yet!) to pay for the kind of help you feel you need.

Patience my friend! Help is at hand.
Let’s step back a minute….

Seafood dessert? I think not, but then, this is recorded with no editing, and you were getting the benefit of my unedited thoughts at the time.
The message tone in the background is just real life – I have a whole raft of things to attend to as well.

You do need to look at BOTH the deep and wide: you need to have a context for whatever business you will be involved in AND you need to have something unique – something special that differentiates you from other people in the same general arena, otherwise you’ll simply be competing on price, and that is a mugs game – there is always someone out there who will underbid you!

Start today – get organized and things are more likely to work out the way you want!
If you have any other questions or suggestions, leave me a comment and I’ll be sure to answer them!

What Do You Know About The Fiscal Cliff?

This one I had to share! You know how everyone is throwing around the word “Fiscal Cliff”, almost like saying the world is coming to an end?
The writer puts it in a way that’s easy enough for anyone to understand

****************************************************************************************************************************

“Fiscal Cliff” put in a much better perspective.

Lesson # 1:

* U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000
* Fed budget: $3,820,000,000,000
* New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
* National debt: $14,271,000,000,000
* Recent budget cuts: $ 38,500,000,000

Let’s now remove 8 zeros and pretend it’s a household budget:

* Annual family income: $21,700
* Money the family spent: $38,200
* New debt on the credit card: $16,500
* Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
* Total budget cuts so far: $38.50

Got It ??…….OK now,

Lesson # 2:

Here’s another way to look at the Debt Ceiling:

Let’s say, You come home from work and find
there has been a sewer backup in your neighborhood….
and your home has sewage all the way up to your ceilings.

What do you think you should do ……

Raise the ceilings, or remove the s**t?

****************************************************************************************************************************

Got it?

Don’t make a general scenario personal. Use the knowledge to examine your own financial practices and see what you can do to improve things.
Look around you – there are many people who are flourishing in this “not-so-great” economy. Why not you?

Make up your mind to be one of the flourishing people – DO WHATEVER IT TAKES!

Not Just Any Old Habit – Good Habits

Yes, it’s important to form habits – that is what will get things done and lead you to mastery.
Thing is: not all habits are equal. You want to form good habits, but if what you are repeating is not fundamentally sound, you may well be forming not-so-good habits.

How would you tell the difference?
Good habits will tend to make you feel accomplished on a medium and longer term timeframe than a poor habit.
Bad habits are usually based on instant gratification. Remember those midnight snacking habits? They made you feel great at the time, but eventually, you did not feel all that great, maybe because of eventual health issues that you could pretty much trace back to that habit and time.

We are constantly evolving, and if you stay aware of what you do, it’ll be fairly easy to tell a good from a poor habit. Almost all habits with a forbidden fruit element are poor ones.

Exercising may start off being a bit tough, but done frequently enough, becomes a habit and hopefully, the results are the motivation for keeping the habit, which is why you need to look at the longer term.

I hardly did any exercise when I was younger – I did not look like I needed it (great genes and reasonable eating habits amongst other things), but I certainly could not be described as fit. Then I decided I wanted to get fit.
If there was an easy way, you can trust me on this: I would have found it. There isn’t any!

These days, I aim to do at least 14 miles a week – doing something every day works better for me, especially time-wise. And I have never felt better! That is what my encouragement is when I don’t particularly feel like it. Plus there is a lot of research that points to a shrinking brain (physically and functionally) with increasing weight. That is enough for me to stick to my exercise and lifestyle eating plan.

Find a strong reason to form a good habit. Those reasons should also be able to get you back on track should you stray a bit. The longterm benefits of your good habits will be self evident.

“Good Habits are as addictive as bad habits, and a lot more rewarding” ~ Harvey MacKay.

Great Habits And Success – Subconsciously….

How do you get good, or even great?

It’s certainly not going to be after the one time you did anything, or even twice or thrice. It’s going to come when you have done things so many times, you can’t even recall how much time you have spent on it.
By which time, you’ve become a master and it is practically effortless.

Developing great habits and thoughts are a lot simpler than you’d think – if you surround yourself with the right people and material, you assimilate what you need subconsciously.

Try the suggestions: leave me a comment below to let me know how it works for you.

Persistence Vs Overwhelm

We’re being continually told to be persistent. When does persistence or doggedness become foolishness and overwhelm, leading nowhere? You are trying everything you know how but not getting any results.

This can be hard to determine for some of us who don’t want to give up without a good effort, yet we’ve tried everything we know how, and are feeling overstretched.
It is the sign of an industrious person to take every action possible, yet we’ve tried so many things so many different ways and there are simply too many things to tackle – the road so far is headed nowhere.

If you are not the creative type, and coming up with something completely new, the answer may be far easier.

In the business world, we are rarely doing something that is so completely new, you can’t find someone who has gone through a similar process as you are going through. It is then a matter of finding trusted advisors, a mentor and/or a coach. No need to reinvent the wheel.

It is also a good time to regroup and simplify. Delete the things that do not move you forward and delegate or outsource things that are not your core competence. You would have determined what you bring to the table and work mostly on that.

I would love to hear how you deal with roadblocks in your business life. Leave comments below.

Millionaire Or Victim?

If I asked you right now to say whether you have a millionaire or victim mindset, I’m willing to bet that most will say they have a millionaire one.
What some are probably doing is confusing the (very superficial desire) for money with an abundance mindset.
I’ve been receiving quite a few begging letters – even more at this time of the year. It never fails to amaze me that someone thinks I or anyone else, for that matter, can wave a magic wand, and all their problems will be solved.
What do you wish to achieve by begging? Offering nothing but wanting everything? Hmmm…..

Having a poor-me and needy attitude and/or an entitlement mentality will just take you deeper into the quicksand of your life. The only way to get out of quicksand is to stay still first and then slowly get out. The more you struggle, the quicker you sink!

It goes back to basics – taking responsibility for wherever you happen to be in life – good and bad. If you can take responsibility for the bad, you will realize that you can make good happen.

Get creating!
